Chanukah party at the Jewish Museum
Wednesday 22 December 2010The Jewish Volunteering Network organised a chanukah party at the Jewish Museum to celebrate the last day of the festival of lights.
Some 80 specially invited guests gathered at the Jewish Museum building in the evening of Wednesday 8 December 2010 as a thank you for their support as volunteers for the charities working in the Jewish Social Action Hub, particularly Mitzvah Day, and were invited to tour the recently reopened Museum. Guests celebrated the last night of Chanukah by helping in the biggest Gift Exchange through donating a small gift to World Jewish Relief to be distributed to disadvantaged people in Eastern Europe.
The Jewish Museum also invited some of their key volunteers to the event and Robert Craig, Vice-Present of the Jewish Museum, whilst thanking everyone for generously giving their time said "The Jewish Volunteering Network provides a tremendous service to the community, putting would-be volunteers in touch with agencies which need their help. The Jewish Museum, for example, is grateful to the JVN for its assistance in building up our roll of 170 invaluable volunteers."
