JVN hosts the Israeli Paralympics Delegation
Thursday 27 October 2011Earlier this month JVN hosted the Israeli Paralympic Games Delegation in advance of London 2012, who are asking for British community support
The meeting was hosted by JVN, a partner of the Jewish Committee for the London Games and chaired by Frank Weinberg, National Chairman of British Friends of Israel War Disabled (BFIWD); a strong connection being with BFIWD being that over half of the team is comprised of victims of war and terror. JVN has already helped BFIWD early this year to find 10 very special volunteers to accompany each of the Paralympic atheletes, however, in addition, the Delegation set out need for additional volunteer support especially out of the village as they would have a strong sailing and rowing contingents which requires ample travel.
JVN together with Magen David Adom are looking for additional volunteers to support the Israeli Paralympic Games Team and most importantly, the Delegation wants to look the part. They have secured limited sponsorship regarding the competition side of the Games, but they are also are in great need to have formal sports dress for the opening and closing ceremonies to help showcase Israel positively and look the part. If you would like to dress the team and address this problem or volunteer your help in any way. Please contact Es Rosen on 020 7443 5102 or email Esmond@jvn.org.uk .

British Friends of Israel War Disabled (BFIWD) is a non-political organisation, established in 1974, dedicated to helping disabled Israeli soldiers rebuild their lives. Each year BFIWD brings groups of injured soldiers to communities in the UK as a vital part of their rehabilitation. The trip changes their lives, giving them hope for the future.
