JVN hosts a new leadership drive for Adam Science Alumni

On 14th December, JVN in partnership with the Adam Science Foundation held its first annual Trustee Drive.

The event was an opportunity for graduates of the Adam Science Foundation Leadership Programme (ASFLP) to meet and match with Jewish communal organisations currently looking to recruit lay leaders.

The event was the brainchild of Simi Ben Hur and Ben Ullmann, Adam Science Alumni co-chairs, who said, "Matching our passionate and talented alumni to leadership positions in the Jewish community is the core business of Adam Science. Our vision is for the 200+ Adam Science alumni to play a significant role in ensuring a vibrant future for the UK Jewish Community. That is why we are delighted our first trustee drive was such a success, which we hope to replicate next year."

The evening started with the graduation ceremony for participants in the 2010/11 leadership programme. It was an opportunity for the graduates to reflect on the previous year and share their inspiration with those attending. Each participant made a speech before being presented with a certificate by James Libson, former UJIA trustee for leadership development and Anna Josse, an Adam Science Foundation trustee.

Edie Friedman of JCORE said, "This is an excellent initiative bringing together people who have specific skills to share with charities who are very much in need of such skills. We were delighted to be part of the first JVN/Adam Science trustee drive. The Adam Science leadership programme has such a good reputation we knew we would be speaking to the highest calibre of lay leaders."
