Hammerson House has now merged with Nightingale, Hammerson provides sheltered, residential and nursing care for 97 people. The ethos of the home is to enable residents to maximise their potential and to live as independently as possible. This is done through good nursing care, a very varied activity programme, a shop, and physiotherapy. To fulfil the varied programme, which is on offer, Volunteering opportunities include assisting in the shop, gardening with residents, escorting outings, reading to the partially sighted, assisting with in-house concerts, chatting with residents and many other options.
