Hand on Heart Charity

Hand on Heart Charity has a simple goal; to prevent the deaths of the 12 young people who die due to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) each week.

The aims of Hand on Heart are clear:-

• Raise awareness of cardiac arrest in the young
• Fund defibrillators for schools
• Educate children how to perform basic life support and save lives

270 children will die in school in the UK every year due to Sudden Cardiac Arrrest, providing the school with a defibrillator – we are giving people in local communities the opportunity to bring chances of survival from 10% to 74% when CPR and a defibrillator is used. We want to see communities in which no young people die as a result of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Anyone of any age, health, height or gender can suffer from Sudden Cardiac Arrest which is why taking the necessary precautions against this is vital, especially in schools - a place we consider safe for our children!

Hand on Heart are a small national children’s charity, they are very passionate and determined and have made over 550 schools Heart Safe in over 3 year’s which is a big achievement.
