Mike Silverstone

Mike Silverstone

Volunteer Development Manager

Mike originally started at JVN as an intern in September 2011. However, after completing his internship, a call-back for a job to expand JVN's youth work was too difficult for him to turn down. Mike has grown the number of youth-involving projects JVN is involved in, and JVN is now well-known among schools, youth movements and university Jewish societies. He is also working with JLGB to develop evolve, their online initiative for Jewish youth volunteering. Mike is additionally responsible for writing many of JVN's reports and publications, and he also manages JVN's social media channels and blog site.

To find out more about JVN's youth programmes or to link up via social media, e-mail Mike: mike@jvn.org.uk

She also carries out various administration duties. Rita is a retired solicitor and has been a volunteer for several charities over the years. She is currently a member of the JC Singers who entertain residents in old age care homes and at friendship clubs.

Doreen Morris

Following retirement from full time work in education in the further education sector, Doreen decided it was now time to offer something back to the community. She is a qualified teacher but for the last 15 years or so was a senior manager at various colleges. She has always been very involved with her Shul. At Kenton she was a member of the board and, for a time, the executive as well as chairing the adult education, children’s services and contributing to other areas of shul life. She currently lives in Edgware where she got herself onto the Board for a short time, and is now a member of a number of committees. At JVN she helps twice a week with the Bnei Mitzvah, social prescribing and mentoring programmes.

Intersted in our specialist programmes? E-mail Doreen at volunteer2@jvn.org.uk or call 020 8203 6427 ext.2.
