Trusteeships and governorships

Trustees and governors are essentially akin to a corporate sector Board of Directors. Trustees, for charities and governors, for schools, help set the direction of the organisation and ensure its mission and charitable objectives are being fulfilled. These positions also come with a degree of legal responsibility and the boards are normally comprised of a range of people with different areas of expertise and levels of experience. They often meet around four or five times per year to discuss recent developments in the organisation and how it moves forward. Some trustees or governors are quite hands-on in the day-to-day running of a charity whereas others take more of a backseat role.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee or governor, JVN provides a bespoke matching service. You will have an interview with our Head of Volunteering, Lia Bogod, who will then place you in our ‘pool’ of potential trustees. You will be contacted if a suitable role becomes available. Please get in touch with Lia if you are interested at lia@jvn.org.uk or on 020 3869 3916.
