Why Use JVN?

JVN helps to connect volunteers to volunteering opportunities. There are several reasons why we believe that someone looking to volunteer should consider using JVN to help them find the volunteering opportunity that is right for them:

  • JVN focuses on the individual. We want to find out what makes you tick and what really makes you motivated to volunteer. Our website will filter out the opportunities suitable for you; alternatively you can book a one-to-one meeting to find your ideal opportunity. Visit our search page here, or contact us to book a one-to-one appointment.
  • JVN operates a free service. We never charge volunteers anything to use our services, as we do not believe anyone should be out of pocket if they give their time for free to help a good cause. We strongly encourage all organisations we work with to reimburse volunteers’ expenses for the same reason. We are passionate about volunteering, so you also won’t find us promoting any paid jobs either.
  • JVN protects your information. We take data protection very seriously and we don’t pass on your personal details to any other person or organisation without your explicit consent. Applying for an opportunity through our website will not pass on your details either, unless you choose to give. For more information, ask to see our data protection policy.
  • JVN works with over 300 charities and community organisations. As a leading organisation in the Jewish voluntary sector, we are familiar with over 300 charities and community organisations in London, Manchester, Leeds, Hertfordshire and elsewhere. There is never a shortage of volunteering opportunities on our database, with normally 380-450 available at any one time. Although we work with both Jewish and non-Jewish organisations, we aim to ensure that all are sensitive to any religious commitment our volunteers may have. We only allow registered charities to post volunteering opportunities on the JVN website and app.
  • JVN is well respected throughout the charity sector. We are seen both inside and outside of the Jewish community as a leading charity in our field and an expert on all things related to volunteering and volunteer management. We have been commissioned to carry out research by local and national governments, are closely affiliated with the local authority where in Barnet where we are based, and have a strong relationship with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), the country’s leading voluntary sector organisation. You’re in safe hands with JVN!

You can start using JVN’s services by registering with us, which will allow you to search and apply for volunteering opportunities. Alternatively, you can click here to find out more about us.
