JVN believes that parents are a hugely important part of a child’s ability and willingness to volunteer. As well as volunteering yourselves – you can register as a JVN volunteer to find volunteering opportunities for yourself – JVN can help you support and encourage your child in their volunteering. Certificate of Religious Practice

As a result of changes in the law and the School Admissions Code, the CRP – Certificate of Religious Practice – is now compulsory for any parent who wishes to apply for their child to attend a school or nursery under the religious authority of the Office of the Chief Rabbi or the United Synagogue. More information on this procedure can be found here.

The CRP is gained by earning points, and one of the ways to do this is by volunteering. In the case of secondary schools, it is the child who must volunteer, whereas for nurseries and primary schools, the volunteering of the child and/or their parents or guardians can be counted.
