My name is Adam Musikant. I have gone to Lauderdale Road Synagogue in Maida Vale all my life and have been a member of the Spanish and Portuguese community. I was then very fortunate to get the opportunity to be a boy soloist at the Royal Opera House, where I sang until my voice broke in various operas, including touring in 1984 to the Olympic Arts Festival in Los Angeles.

In the winter of 1984, following my Bar Mitzvah, Rabbi Abraham Levy z”l encouraged me to learn more of the services and of the S&P liturgy. I suppose my real honour and passion started perhaps, by chance, when, unfortunately, the Minister of Bevis Marks sadly had some nodules on his voice, and I was asked to learn the Yom Kippur service at the age of 17.
