Endorsement for Good Practice in Volunteer Management

JVN offers a service to its member charities whereby they can receive endorsement for their volunteer management practices. Those organisations who meet the standards outlined by JVN’s Charter for Good Practice in Volunteer Management, are awarded the JVN Kitemark to display on their publicity, in their offices and on their volunteering opportunities listed on the JVN website.

The standard by which charities are judged is based upon the guidelines set out in the JVN Companion to Volunteering, a free copy of which is given to all member charities. Each charity completes a simple self-assessment to prove they meet these standards. The Kitemark is valid for two years.

Each charity that receives the Kitemark is requested to distribute a short survey composed by JVN, after one year of holding it, to obtain feedback on the experience of their existing volunteers. The results are shared with the charity in confidence and can be used to improve their own procedures if necessary.
