Michael Sharp

After spending 37 years working in the nuclear industry, including writing procedures for a new quality management system, Michael took early retirement in order to take on various activities in the voluntary sector. In particular, Michael was asked to apply his extensive experience of working in a strict compliance structure to develop the policies and procedures needed for Chabad Community Care to become an independent organisation. This has led to Chabad Community Care being the first organisation in Manchester to be awarded the JVN Kitemark for Good Practice in Volunteer Management.

Lia Bogod

With a background in training, Lia worked on volunteer management at World Jewish Relief and in the NHS before joining JVN six years ago. Lia has developed numerous training programmes for volunteers and volunteer mangers. She has also developed the JVN Kitemark for Good Practice in Volunteer Management and has written JVN’s publication the Companion to Volunteering. Lia also runs the JVN Trustee Connection Service and works closely with JVN’s member charities giving them advice and support in volunteer management and trustee recruitment.
