Barnet refugee service
ESOL Volunteer teacher
Barnet Refugee Service NW9
We are looking for an ESOL volunteer teacher to provide English language classes at our site in Colindale or at a local children's centre for a few hours a week, during term time only.
We currently have ESOL classes at three levels and you would be expected to teach groups of varying sizes, maintain individual records on the progress of students and liaise with the ESOL co-ordinator.
The goal is to attract students with little knowledge of the English language , sustain good relationships with them and help them progress to Level 1, at which point they can be referred to an accredited centre.
Experience of teaching ESOL is desirable, but not essential. Other teaching experience and an enthusiasm for helping students progress and a commitment to working with refugees and asylum seekers are equally impor
