The pandemic has seen a change in both the commitment of volunteers and the roles that they are interested in taking on. Good practice in volunteer management remains the key to valuing volunteers and ensuring a positive and fulfilling experience for all concerned.
This four-part CPD accredited course is aimed at experienced volunteer managers who wish to develop their skills and advance volunteer management within their organisation. Each session will comprise a taught element and using tools and theories that support volunteer management, delegates will work in facilitated groups to apply this learning to situations often encountered in volunteer management. Delegates will be expected to use these theories between each session and report back to the group.
Taught elements will include:
Learning styles
The Karpman Drama Triangle
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Kotler’s Theory of Change
Further theories relevant to volunteer management will also be included where appropriate.
Delegates should have at least 3 years of experience in volunteer management or have completed four seminars in the series of Good Practice in Volunteer Management offered by JVN. Delegates are expected to attend all four sessions in order to acquire up to 20 CPD hours if all assignments are completed.
