Canary Wharf Multifaith Chaplaincy
Retail Chaplain
To be part of chaplaincy in a multifaith commercial context, providing pastoral care and support to those working within retail on the Canary Wharf Estate, primarily through regular visiting.
What difference you will make
Around 10 000 people work in over 400 retail outlets across the Estate. You will be helping us meet and engage with more of them more frequently.
What additional skills or experience you should have
First and foremost, we are looking for people with good interpersonal skills, with a particular capacity to be good listeners, respectful of confidentiality. Team players able to ice-break, initiate and sustain relaxed but meaningful conversation, and with some appreciation of the challenges of the retail profession are likely to settle quickly and enjoy the role. We do not lead on faith, but need volunteers who are able to articulate their own faith and faith journey honestly with integrity and able to accept the rights of others to hold their own values, traditions, beliefs, practices, and llifestyles.
What training we will provide for you
Full induction, orientation, and ongoing supervision.
What you will get out of volunteering for us
Volunteers become part of a unique professional multifaith workplace chaplaincy team in one of the most vibrant commerical districts in London. They make a simple, quiet difference to the lives of busy retail workers. Travel and refreshment expenses are provided.
