Debbie was the epitome of kindness. She was known for her pure heart, her sense of humour and infectious smile. Debbie was born in Birmingham in 1949, and volunteering was something that was instilled in her growing up. No matter how busy she was with life, work and bringing up children, she made time to give back to her community and to people less fortunate than herself. The list of organisations she has given her time to is endless.

GIFT was a very special place for her. She helped with several roles, including the infamous packing of food bags. During COVID, she helped cook and pack meals for people in need. She was known as the Taping Queen who would sprinkle her “Debbie Dust” (aka, parsley) on the meals made with love. She made some amazing friends who held a very special place in her heart.

Taken from us too soon, Debbie passed away in August. The world has lost a truly unique and special person, but her light won’t fade. She inspired so many to be better, to give more, to do more, to help more.
