European Maccabi Youth Games 2024!
30th July – 6th August 2024

Maccabi GB are delighted to be hosting the inaugural European Maccabi Youth Games ‘EMYG24’, taking place in London from July 30 to August 6, 2024. To see the promotional video please click here.
Hundreds of young people from across Europe and the world, will be participating in a week of sporting competition, London sightseeing, learning about British Jewish history, culture and tradition and having a true Maccabi Jewish experience.

Based on one campus, the EMYG will feature up to 23 sports in Youth (U18) and Junior (U16) competitions.

Maccabi are looking for a variety of volunteers to help over the Games, you can learn about the different available roles below!

European Maccabi Youth Games Volunteering Roles 2024 

See below a overview of the different roles available throughout the EMYG24. If you would like to find out more about any of the roles, click the buttons under the summary. 

Registration & Helpdesk 
A combined role that will involve managing and working closely with different people in the control centre, as well as within the event generally, so that all aspects of registration and helpdesk run smoothly throughout the event. You will be dealing with participant requests when they arise in a timely and efficient manner.

Admin and Logistics Control Centre Support
This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants a volunteering role which requires lots of interpersonal communication. You will work closely with our Director of Finance and manage different people, ensuring the smooth running of the control centre.

Accomodation & Site Liaison
Join the Accommodation team and help be the first point of contact for all participants with any rooming issues during their stay. This is a great way to welcome the athletes to EMYG and making them feel at ease when they first arrive.

Operations Marshall's 
This is a front-facing role with the athletes and all spectators, directing and helping the community. Areas include accommodation, registration, catering and all sports facilities.

Arrival and Departure Support
This opportunity is ideal for someone who is welcoming and would love to be the first face participants see when they arrive, and wants to support Maccabi GB ensuring the success of the games and the participating athletes and their families create many happy memories of their time in London.

Transport Support
This will involve making sure all transportation runs smoothly and ensuring that all athletes and staff are in the right place at the right time. This will involve keeping in communication with many parties throughout the event. This means being the main point of contact for transport providers, TO’s, sports teams, educational teams, and the VIP team. This is a great opportunity to interact with many different people throughout the games.

Medics and Physios 
If you have medical experience and/or First Aid training this role could be for you! This involves working closely with our medical team, helping oversee the major medical / first aid provisions for the event, screening records, and creating supply lists..

Referees and Officials 
Ensuring different on-site aspects of the event are working and liaising with the Sports Team and site representatives throughout the event

Site Sport Liaison
Can you help ensure different on-site aspects of the event are working and liaising with the Sports Team and site representatives throughout the event. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants a volunteering role where you are directly involved in the running of a sporting event.

Catering Support
This opportunity is ideal for someone who has a passion for food and catering, especially within a large-scale event. The role will involve working with the venue catering team in the planning and delivering of all catering in the leadup to and throughout the event.

Marketing & Communications  - Engagement and Promotion Support
This involves helping oversee many of the major marketing & communications aspects of the event, including signage, online and social media coverage, and working with various parties to ensure thorough promotion of the Event.

VIP Programme Support 
This will involve being in frequent contact with and working closely with VIP’s of the event. This will be during the Games and will also require collaboration with the Events / Ceremonies Team, the Catering Team and the Transport Team

Educational Programming
The Education and Planning volunteers will help to deliver the educational programming component of the event, including planning activities and booking the relevant space.
