FEAST WITH US
Delivery Cyclists
Our cyclist volunteers are an essential part of our chain of help, taking the food we need to cook, bringing it to our kitchens, and delivering cooked meals to various partner shelters and community centres.
We have a partnership with some food distributor charities such as Edible London, City Harvest and Barnet Food Hub, which supply us with plenty of fresh food for our meals. We're looking for volunteers to help us collect this nutritious produce and deliver it to our kitchens. We also need cyclists to collect our delicious meals from our kitchens and deliver them to local shelters, hostels and community spaces.
What difference you will make
Here at FEAST we can't cook and supply delicious, nutritious meals without the help of our volunteer cyclists!
As a delivery cyclist, you will play an essential role within the FEAST team, and will ensure that everyone who relies on our food will receive nutritious, delicious meals. You will also support us in redistributing surplus food to ensure none of it goes to waste.
We will also offer you the opportunity to cook with us too! So if you ever fancy a break from cycling, you can spend some time cooking in one of our kitchens with a team of other lovely volunteers.
What additional skills or experience you should have
No skills needed! Just access to a bike and confidence cycling around London. Large backpacks and/or trailers are also helpful.
What training we will provide for you
A basic Level 2 Food Hygiene course will be offered to those also wishing to participate in cooking sessions.
What you will get out of volunteering for us
Will help your community and those experiencing food poverty by delivering essential meals to those who need them.
Valuable work experience within a charity environment.
It is a great opportunity for those looking for using their skills and free time to support the needs of our community and help us reduce inequality.
It is also an opportunity to add to your portfolio/CV.
Become part of a friendly, enthusiastic and varied team.
We will offer you support and training opportunities, including Level 2 qualifications once you become a volunteer.
Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact Angie at angie@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.
