My name's Frank Maxwell, and I'm an engineer from Coventry. When I was young, many local people were anti-Black, anti-Jewish, anti-everything. These people couldn't even go into the public house or into the Working Men's club. I thought there must be something we can do. So, I approached the leader of Coventry council. Within a month, the conditions started to change.
As I got older, I was a member of the Shul and started looking for Jewish charities. I did actually go to Israel on several events with Rabbis for Human Rights. I got involved with World Jewish Relief (WJR), and now I'm Chair of WJR in the Midlands. I do something that's charitable every week, sometimes two or three days a week. It helps people who are ignored by many and treated badly.
