My name is Guilda Shamash, and my journey with Hadassah began quite unexpectedly. On a Sunday at the Hurlingham Club, when I was feeding my three young children, a remarkable woman approached me and told me that I needed to join Hadassah Hospital. True to her word, she followed up with a phone call and an invitation, and that moment changed the course of my volunteering life.

As a committee member, I was involved in organising a wide range of fundraising and educational events, including bridge afternoons, fashion shows, and medical lectures. Over time, I was appointed Chair, a role I held for 13 years.
