Harington
Established 40 years ago, Harington is a ‘college’ for young people aged 16-25 years with learning differences, from across north London. There are two locations - a 1.4-acre green site in Highgate and ‘Hub’ in Hornsey. Students are taught English and maths and follow a retail or horticultural pathway. For retail, they learn retail skills in the classroom, work experience in one of the two charity shops (Highgate or Hornsey) and have the opportunity after graduation to be a Harington shop assistant. For horticulture, they learn gardening skills in the classroom and outside at the Highgate location, and have the opportunity after graduation to be an assistant gardener with Harington Gardeners, the charity's commercial gardening company.
