Hatzola HBS
Volunteer Emergency Dispatcher
Hatzola HBS is a new medical emergency response service covering parts of Barnet, Whetstone, Totteridge, Cockfosters and Southgate. We are totally inclusive and employ male and female emergency responders and dispatchers from all backgrounds. As a dispatcher, your task would be to:
Manage incoming emergency calls
Record relevant details using our computerised system
Dispatch emergency responders

Working as part of a team, you will be helping to save lives and to improve the quality of care provided during medical emergencies.
What additional skills or experience you should have
Excellent communication skills
A calm and controlled approach to managing difficult situations
Excellent listening and memory skills
We use different computer packages so you will need to be IT literature and be confident using a laptop, mouse and basic computer packages - training provided
Medical knowledge helpful but not a necessity - training provided
What training we will provide for you
Full training includes:
information about Hatzola
different medical emergencies we are likely to encounter (we do not triage)
managing difficult calls and situations
IT dispatch software
Other software packages including telephone and shift management
Most training is on zoom although you will be required to attend a few face to face sessions within our catchment area (Barnet).

Location:The work is home-based but training is in our geographical area ie. Barnet. Whilst you do not need to live within the area, it is helpful to be within an easily commutable distance.
