At JVN we:
1.Empower our volunteers by providing them a strong welcome programme, on-going training and a strong understanding of what governance needs to be in place that will assist them to carry out their roles.
2. Listen to our volunteers by offering opportunities for them to make suggestions regarding ways in which we might better achieve our respective tasks and better engage and support JVN in delivering on its charitable aims.
3. JVN welcomes volunteers of all abilities and will provide support and to ensure they can carry out their volunteer role.
4. Ensure volunteers are treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination and JVN is an inclusive space for everyone.
5. Respect our volunteers by not sharing confidential information relating to them.
6. Ensure no volunteer unexpected expenses whilst carrying a role on behalf of JVN.
Thank you for agreeing to volunteer for JVN:
1. Let us help you by allowing us to help you resolve any perceived barriers which you believe may stop or hinder you from performing your volunteer role.
2. Please tell us if you don’t understand our policies. They are in place to keep JVN staff and volunteers safe and not understanding them may impact your ability to volunteer on our behalf.
3. We understand there will be times when circumstances will change, and you may not be able to fulfil your volunteer role. We would appreciate if you could let us know in a timely manner in order, we make alternate arrangements.
4. Volunteers chose to stop volunteering for many reasons. It would be helpful if you could notify us of your decision to end your volunteering as quickly as possible. This will enable us to remove your details from our volunteer register and prevent you receiving further communications from us. It will also enable us the opportunity to thank you for the volunteer work you have carried out for us. It is also useful to understand why you are leaving, would you have stayed if things had been different and what thoughts do you have on how to improve the volunteering experience for others?
