Registering as a volunteer can open up a whole new world of volunteering opportunities
JVN is committed to maintaining good practice in volunteer management across volunteer using organisations, and to support them to do so themselves. JVN can offer charities accreditation for their volunteer management through its Good Practice Seal of Recognition. The Seal of Recognition is free to all Full Partner Charities that meet the criteria and can be displayed on your website and publicity materials to show the value you place on your volunteers. JVN will also display the Kitemark alongside your opportunities on the JVN website as an endorsement. The Seal of Recognition must be renewed every two years.

The standard by which charities are judged is based upon the guidelines set out in the JVN Companion to Volunteering, a free copy of which is given to all member charities which can be accessed here. The Seal of Recognition can be obtained through a simple self-assessment process, by confirming that you fulfil all the requirements of our Good Practice in Volunteer Management Charter. You can download the Charter here.
Each charity that receives the Seal of Recognition is requested to distribute a short survey composed in partnerhsip with JVN, after one year of holding it, to obtain feedback on the experience of their volunteers. The results are shared with the charity in confidence and can be used to improve their own procedures if necessary.
If you are a Full Partner Charity and would like to apply for the Seal of Recognition or to obtain help in fulfilling the Charter requirements, contact our Charity Engagement and Volunteer Manager, Rachelle Lazarus, at Rachelle@jvn.org.uk or call 020 8203 6427 ext.3.
