League of Jewish Women - North West Region

The League of Jewish Women (LJW) is a long-established voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting people across both the Jewish and wider community through practical service, friendship, and compassion. Membership is open to all Jewish women and men who share a commitment to making a positive difference.

LJW brings together members of all ages and backgrounds who contribute their time, skills, and experience to a wide range of voluntary activities. Through local groups, members support individuals and community organisations, respond to changing needs, and foster lasting friendships.

Local groups meet regularly, either during the day or in the evening, to organise voluntary service, plan community projects, and enjoy social activities together.

The voluntary work undertaken by LJW members is diverse and reflects the needs of the communities they serve. Activities include visiting residents in care homes, producing the Northern Jewish Talking Newspaper, sewing scrub bags for healthcare professionals, supporting local charities and community initiatives, and participating in many other practical service projects.

Annual membership is £10 for women and £7 for men.
