On retiring I wanted to help in the community and heard about JVN. Very easily signed up and then received emails of various opportunities.

On seeing the JBD advert to help in one of the homes for their cinema afternoon, it really appealed, and I knew I could do that.

Once applying it was all very smooth and quick. Starting with a chat with Simone Mazin from JBD, some simple forms to fill in and a meeting in the lovely premises to run through guidelines of JBD, health and safety etc. I also have been DBS checked and now involved in helping the cinema afternoons. It is a lovely event which everybody enjoys, including me."
