Who we are:

Maytree provides a non medical but therapeutic intervention to those at risk of suicide through offering a one-off respite stay of four nights for up to four people in a calm and safe terrace house based in North London. We seek to ensure privacy, respect and confidentiality - a place, and the space and time, to rest, reflect and talk without pressure or judgement.



The Role of a volunteer:

The essence of the volunteers’ role is ‘befriending’; enabling another person to feel heard and valued. Volunteers will spend most of their time befriending and supporting suicidal guests at the house under the guidance of the Shift Leaders. They will also be expected to befriend potential guests over the telephone
