Mother to Mother
Mother to Mother Meal & Family Support Driver (Female Volunteer)
Mother to Mother supports women and families during the postnatal period through practical, emotional and physical support. As a Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver, you will collect freshly prepared meals from our kitchen in NW London and deliver them to mothers and families in Edgware, Hendon, Golders Green and Borehamwood.
What difference you will make
By delivering meals, you will be helping mothers during one of the most significant and challenging periods of their lives.
Many of the women we support are recovering from birth, adjusting to life with a newborn, experiencing isolation, or managing postnatal mental health challenges. Your delivery will provide more than just a nutritious meal. It will remind mothers that they are cared for and supported by their community.
The role directly contributes to Mother to Mother's mission of improving the wellbeing of mothers and families by providing practical support, reducing isolation and helping families access additional support when needed.
What additional skills or experience you should have
We are looking for volunteers who are:
- Friendly, reliable and compassionate
- Organised and able to manage deliveries independently
- Sensitive to the needs of mothers during the postnatal period
- Committed to confidentiality and professionalism
What training we will provide for you
All volunteers will receive:
- An introduction to Mother to Mother, postnatal wellbeing and our services
- Safeguarding training and guidance
- Training on confidentiality, boundaries and best practice when supporting families
- Ongoing support from the Mother to Mother team throughout your volunteering journey
What you will get out of volunteering for us
Volunteering with Mother to Mother is a rewarding way to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
Through this role, you will:
- Help mothers feel supported during a potentially vulnerable period
- Become part of a caring and committed volunteer community of over 70 weekly volunteers
- Experience the satisfaction of knowing your time is having a direct and positive impact on mothers and families in your local community
