New London Synagogue
New London Synagogue is the flagship Synagogue of Masorti Judaism, located in St Johns Wood we have a thriving and energetic Sunday School.
We are looking for volunteers prepared to work as Learning Support Assistants for some children with special needs as they take part in our Sunday School, or Cheder.
The Cheder meets on 33 Sunday mornings in the year, broadly following the academic year, from 9:45 - 12:30pm. Our students range from 3-13, though the students with special needs are in the middle of this broader age-range.
We have several students with special needs. Your role would be to be to support a specified student either in class, or should it be necessary, stepping briefly out of class to give them some one-to-one focus.
Some training and a lot of support is offered.
DBS (previously known as CRB) checks will be necessary.
More information on the specific needs and skills we are looking for will be provided.
Patience, kindness and a warm heart are all much valued.
