My name is Selina Gellert, and volunteering was always part of my family. I was a GP by profession, working in a busy inner-city practice. So, at that time, I probably didn't have a lot of time to volunteer. When I retired, I started thinking about things I would like to do.

I started volunteering for JW3 during COVID, when everybody was sitting at home, not quite sure what to do. JW3 put out an email saying we're looking for people to make food and deliver food for Camden Social Services. I was delivering to a lot of deprived areas, and because I'd been a GP in a city hospital, it was a bit like going back to work without the stress of working.

"I think it's wonderful that we, as a Jewish organisation, are delivering to everybody of every religion and every culture in the neighbourhood. We give them little gifts at Christmas and little gifts at Ramadan. And I think it's very special."
