Edward Lazarus:

My name is Edward Lazarus, and I’m really pleased to be raising funds in support of JVN.

In the interest of full disclosure, my wife works for the charity, which means I see first-hand the incredible support JVN offers, both to charities who rely on volunteers and to individuals looking to find roles that genuinely suit them.

As a family we have also experienced JVN’s impact personally. Through their work, many members of our family have been connected with volunteering roles that are meaningful and well matched, and we’ve seen just how effective JVN is at bringing the right people together.

Charities like JVN are intrinsic to our community. They quietly strengthen organisations, support individuals looking for roles, ensuring volunteering work better for everyone involved. I’m delighted to be able to support their work and help raise funds for such an important charity.

Shimon Hurst

I’m Shimon Hurst, currently on my gap year in Israel.

Charity work has been quite a large part of my life, primarily through music. I’ve done many performances to raise money for charity, with anything from singing in a group where 50% of our revenue goes to charity, to sponsored recitals.

I have volunteered with Bnei Akiva and Shalva, taking camps and weekly groups, however this is a value I would like to start doing more of, which makes JVN an amazing organisation for me to run for.

I believe that volunteering and Tzedakkah is an incredibly important value to act upon, and so running for JVN seems like the perfect opportunity to express my belief in this value while doing something I love.”
