This session will look at the purpose of a befriending scheme as well as the benefits and risks involved in carrying out befriending. We will look at what needs to happen to put in place an effective and safe scheme. There will be time to put together a draft training document for your befrienders and also complete an action plan. This training has been designed and will be delivered by Brenda Bloch and Jo Masters, highly experienced trainers in the area of volunteer-involving befriending schemes.
