Charity Engagement and Volunteering Manager

We’re looking for an outstanding Charity & Volunteering Manager to help us realise our ambition to connect and support volunteers for the benefit of charities across the Jewish community and wider society.  We’re a small but passionate team who believe that volunteering changes lives, communities and society and that everyone can be inspired to do it. 

As Charity Engagement and Volunteering Manager you will be at the very heart of JVN’s activities. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to JVN achieving our purpose through your expertise and lived experience of volunteer management in charities and through your leadership of the Charity Engagement and Volunteering Team.

Our ideal candidate will approach the work with a high degree of enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility.  You’ll come with ideas, inspiration and a touch of creativity to power us into 2021 and beyond.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Support the Chief Executive in leading the organisation
• Manage the connection, support and placement of volunteers
• Manage partnerships with charities
• Provide expertise in Volunteer Management to charities
• Manage Charities and Volunteering Team
• Lead on Safeguarding and GDPR policies

Essential Skills and Abilities needed:

• Charity volunteer management lived experience, knowledge and expertise
• High-level knowledge of volunteering best practice, policies and procedures
• Volunteer recruitment experience, knowledge and expertise
• Staff leadership and management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to inspire and motivate
• Passion for and experience of volunteering

This role is Mondays to Thursdays (4 days) with work needed out of regular hours on occasions.
