Charity

Jewish Blind & Disabled

Jewish Blind & Disabled is the only charity dedicated to enabling people from the age of 18 upwards, who have physical disabilities or impaired vision, to live independently with the dignity and choice that are so easy for others to take for granted.

One in five people in the UK have to face a diagnosis of disability at some point in their lives, with someone going blind every hour. Jewish Blind & Disabled’s mission is to restore their independence and hope for the future through our developments of state-of-the-art mobility with resident house managers on site and on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week in case of an emergency; giving tremendous peace of mind not just to the tenant but to their family too.

We provide specially adapted mobility apartments located in one of our seven supportive developments in London, Hertfordshire and Essex. Alongside this, we offer occupational therapist assessments and support to help people stay independent and safe in their own home and support groups that connect people living with disabilities and sight loss to each other.

As an independent charity that does not receive any government funding, Jewish Blind & Disabled is very grateful for the support of our volunteers.
