Are you passionate about getting moving and having a boogie?
We’re looking for an upbeat, energetic volunteer to lead our Thursday Dance Club, running from 4:00–5:00pm.
You’ll have the freedom to bring your own choreography, pick your favourite songs, and dance the afternoon away with the group, it’s the perfect blend of exercise, music, and fun!
If you love dance and enjoy sharing your energy with others, we’d love to hear from you.
What difference you will make
This role will make a meaningful difference by creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive space where autistic adults and adults with a learning disability can build confidence, stay active, and express themselves through dance.
By leading engaging dance sessions, the volunteer will support the charity’s objectives of promoting wellbeing, social connection, and independence. The sessions encourage physical activity, reduce social isolation, and provide opportunities for participants to develop routine, coordination, and self-esteem in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Ultimately, this role helps ensure participants can access positive experiences that support both their physical and emotional health while feeling welcomed, valued, and included.
What additional skills or experience you should have
No previous experience is required for this role, enthusiasm, reliability, and a positive attitude are the most important qualities.
However, it would be a bonus if you have any experience in dance, movement, fitness, or leading group activities, or if you’ve previously worked or volunteered with autistic adults or adults with a learning disability. Good communication skills, patience, and an inclusive approach are also helpful.
Full support will be provided, and we welcome individuals who are keen to learn and share their energy with others.
