About the Primary Care Group: The Primary Care Group consists of volunteers and patient representatives to identify issues, offer solutions and to improve primary care services to patients and carers. The group is chaired by Asmina Remtulla. We listen to patient and carer views and experience and encourage health and social care services to involve people in decisions that affect them. We work for positive change in primary care and wellbeing services in Barnet as well as highlighting good practice. The PCG has led many projects with a constant emphasis on patient perspective, understanding and the communications that patients receive. The group works with local PPGs, Healthwatch Barnet, North Central London CCG and Barnet Federated GPs as well as working directly with practices and Practice Managers, to analyse and improve patient access and experience. What will the role involve? • Working with PCG volunteers and staff team to reach out into different communities to get people’s views on health and social care services • Identify primary care issues to be brought to the group for further discussion • To plan and carry out research and investigations into Primary Care services in Barnet • To assist in sharing ‘Good Practice’ with services of interested parties • To assist in outreach work with community groups to investigate any issues they are facing • Planning engagement activities with other volunteers and staff members • Engaging people using online platforms e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams and/or via phone • Talking to and gathering views of the public and reporting this back to us • Helping us conduct surveys and consultations with local people • Being a link person between the Primary Care Group and other organisations: members of the public and community groups • Help us gather people’s experiences of using health and social care services from all communities • Receive and cascade information that CB Plus send out • Supporting patient and public communication distributing leaflets or posters to practices or pharmacies in your home location within the borough of Barnet Key benefits of volunteering: • An opportunity to contribute positively to your local community, help people, and make a real difference to their lives • A chance to learn new skills with training and personal development opportunities • We will offer you free training to support your role and wider interests in health and wellbeing • An opportunity to meet a diverse range of people and develop connections with people in your local community • Being part of a great team of volunteers, with staff to support you CB Plus is an award-winning, multi-borough national charity based in London, reaching over a million Londoners and a national reputation.
