Chai Cancer Care
Volunteer Drivers Needed in North Manchester on Adhoc Basis
Chai is looking for caring volunteer drivers to bring clients to and from its centre's in Manchester. This enabling clients to access Chai's services. Own car is essential.
What difference you will make
This is an important role as clients often build relationships with regular drivers and are an additional support to those going through a cancer journey.
What additional skills or experience you should have
Chai is looking for warm, compassionate individuals who are willing to be flexible as this is ad hoc.
We would like to ensure that volunteers who work with our clients fully understand and appreciate the issues that are important to our clients. As such, we normally ask that volunteers have some personal or family experience of cancer, and that this experience is at least 18 months in the past.
If you have, sadly, experienced a bereavement that is not cancer-related, we ask that at least 12 months have passed since your bereavement before volunteering.
What training we will provide for you
Chai provides training before starting the role and offers ongoing training.
What you will get out of volunteering for us
This is a rewarding role, helping clients to access services and is very much appreciated.
Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact Angie at angie@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.
