Volunteer Needed to Lead Meditation Sessions – Mill Hill East

We are looking for a volunteer to lead meditation sessions for tenants at our building in Mill Hill East. The aim is to provide tenants with an opportunity to relax, take some time for themselves and enjoy the benefits of mindfulness and meditation in a calm and welcoming environment. The volunteer would help organise and facilitate regular sessions, guiding tenants through simple meditation or relaxation techniques and encouraging them to take part at their own pace. Sessions could provide an opportunity for tenants to pause, unwind and enjoy a little peace and quiet as part of their daily routine. We are looking for someone who has an interest in meditation and enjoys sharing its benefits with others. Previous experience of leading meditation or mindfulness sessions would be beneficial, and the volunteer should feel comfortable guiding a small group in a relaxed and supportive setting. Application process (application form, references etc.) and a DBS check will be required before volunteering can commence. JBD will apply for the DBS on the volunteer's behalf.

Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact our volunteer broker at volunteerbroker@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.

Charity

Jewish Blind & Disabled

Jewish Blind & Disabled is the only charity dedicated to enabling people from the age of 18 upwards, who have physical disabilities or impaired vision, to live independently with the dignity and choice that are so easy for others to take for granted.

One in five people in the UK have to face a diagnosis of disability at some point in their lives, with someone going blind every hour. Jewish Blind & Disabled’s mission is to restore their independence and hope for the future through our developments of state-of-the-art mobility with resident house managers on site and on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week in case of an emergency; giving tremendous peace of mind not just to the tenant but to their family too.

We provide specially adapted mobility apartments located in one of our seven supportive developments in London, Hertfordshire and Essex. Alongside this, we offer occupational therapist assessments and support to help people stay independent and safe in their own home and support groups that connect people living with disabilities and sight loss to each other.

As an independent charity that does not receive any government funding, Jewish Blind & Disabled is very grateful for the support of our volunteers.
