Meet Our New Trustee

March 26, 2014

anthony trusteeIt was great having Anthony Meyerstone come to our office today, we caught up with him to hear some of his thoughts about becoming a Trustee for JVN and volunteering in general. Anthony has recently joined JVN as a Trustee, he is a Pharmaceutical Consultant in his day to day job, trying to bring new cancer drugs to the UK.

Why did you decide to become a Trustee?

I’ve always been involved in charities in the past and I wanted to give a focus to one charity.

What made you choose JVN?

I’ve always been active and keen to volunteer. I think giving the gift of time and getting something tangible in return is much more satisfying for me.  JVN is a great partner in helping you find suitable opportunities to volunteer in.

You have attended our Timebanking Taster Event in February, how did you find it?

Yes, I was intrigued to see what it was about, I found it was extremely insightful. Once there I wanted to spend more time attending as many sessions as possible. It was very informative and relaxed. I think the whole concept of Timebanking and paying it forward with good deeds is great.

Which sessions did you attend?

I attended the Car maintenance Basics session by David Janner-Klausner
The session covered  the purpose of maintenance and how to do some of the basic checks yourself, as well as how to monitor the service schedule for your own car. I found it very insightful and I will be intrigued to try and change a tyre myself.

My wife Jodi attended I Love Soup session by Claire Berson  it was a hands on soup demo where they got to taste the samples, she said it was really good !

What are you looking forward to as a JVN Trustee?

I look forward to making a difference. I can hopefully bring my own skills set such as people management and influencing and see more people getting involved in volunteerin.

Why don’t you consider volunteering today! Give JVN a call and we will help you find your very own volunteering opportunity. Call us on 0208-203-6427 or visit our website for more information.
