Leeds Jewish Welfare Board
Volunteer Drivers
Volunteer Drivers play a vital role in helping members of our community stay connected and independent. Whether using your own vehicle on an “on-call” basis or driving one of our mobility vehicles on a regular route, you will help transport community members safely to the MAZCC, appointments or activities, as well as supporting our hot meal delivery service. Regular and bank volunteers are both welcome.
What difference you will make
As a Volunteer Driver, you will help members of our community stay connected, independent and engaged. Whether transporting people to the MAZCC, appointments and activities, or delivering hot meals, your support will make a real difference to individuals who may otherwise struggle to access services or social opportunities.
What additional skills or experience you should have
Volunteers must hold a full, valid driving licence and be confident driving safely and responsibly. Good communication skills, reliability and a friendly approach are also important. No previous volunteer driving experience is required.
What training we will provide for you
All Volunteer Drivers will receive an induction, wheelchair handling training and a test drive before starting the role. Ongoing support and guidance will also be provided.
What you will get out of volunteering for us
Volunteer Drivers play an important role in supporting the local community while meeting new people and building meaningful connections. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to give back, develop confidence and be part of a friendly and supportive volunteer team.
Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact Angie at angie@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.
