Jewish Care

Yiddish Conversation Volunteer at Sunridge Court

Sunridge Court is looking for a volunteer to lead relaxed and engaging Yiddish language and conversation sessions for residents. Many of our residents have a strong cultural and emotional connection to Yiddish and have expressed interest in reconnecting with the language through informal group sessions including conversation, reading, storytelling and shared memories. Some residents have also stated that they would enjoy learning the language themselves. You will be: · Leading informal Yiddish conversation sessions · Encouraging residents to participate and share memories · Supporting social interaction and group engagement · Reading short texts, poems or songs where appropriate · Creating a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere · Working alongside the Activities Team when required

Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact Angie at angie@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.
