Lend a Hand at Our Shop, Cook & Eat Session!
Come and get to know our members and support autistic people and people with a learning disability to prepare a healthy lunch. This is a friendly, hands‑on volunteering role where you will help build confidence, skills, and independence in the kitchen.
This Session takes place every Monday from 12pm - 2pm
What you’ll do:
Support members to choose ingredients when shopping
Help them chop, prepare, and cook a nutritious meal
Encourage independence while offering guidance where needed
Sit down together and enjoy the lunch you’ve made as a group
What difference you will make
By volunteering with Shop, Cook & Eat, you will play an important part in supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability to build confidence, independence, and practical life skills. Your support helps people feel empowered to take part in everyday activities like shopping, preparing ingredients, cooking, and sharing a meal together.
You will make a genuine impact by creating a friendly, encouraging environment where people feel valued, included, and able to try new things. Each session you take part in helps someone gain skills, make choices, connect socially, and enjoy a meaningful, positive experience.
What additional skills or experience you should have
