JVN @ Limmud 2010!
JVN is ready to make a splash at Limmud! We’ll be presenting on Wednesday, December 29…and we just can’t wait.
Limmud: dedicated to Jewish learning in all its variety.
We’re an ambitious and passionate organisation with a global reputation for creating events with a lively approach to Jewish learning.
We’re inspired, led and run by volunteers. We’re committed to harnessing the energy of people from right across the Jewish community – all ages, all religious affiliations and none – and from across the world.
Faith Matters…Does it? 12:30 – 13:40
A joint panel presentation with experienced Muslim & Jewish interfaith activists will discuss current issues and respond to audience comments and questions concerning the present tensions and anxieties affecting faith communities. We’re be taking a look at the new film, 76 seconds:
Good for Nothing – Wednesday 14:00 – 15:10
Everyone is talking about the government’s strap line of the Big Society, but what does this mean to our community? Volunteering is the glue that keeps the Jewish community together, but how do we recruit, retain, manage, support and reward those that give of their time for nothing? Are we, the small society, punching above our weight?
The Role of Righteous Muslims 15:30 – 16:40
The Limmud launch of a Faith Matters production of a booklet telling of little known stories of brave and courageous Muslims, honoured by Yad Vashem and other major Jewish institutions for saving Jews during the Shoah (Holocaust).
We can’t wait to see you there! In the meantime, keep up with all the Limmud news via Twitter.
