Jewish Care

Kiddush Volunteer, Friern Barnet - Join us on Friday afternoons to make a warm and wonderful Kiddush for Jewish Care residents

Shabbat candles, Kiddush wine, bracha's and Challah are powerful reminiscences for our residents. It brings back happy lifelong memories of times throughout their lives when they were able to celebrate Shabbat in their own homes and precious important moments shared with their families. Could you help make Kiddush in our residential care homes? With your contribution we are able to provide a little bit of spirituality, wonderful memories, bring in shabbat, and help bring spirituality, and an important focus to the week. In bringing Kiddush to their floors we are able to provide spirituality to the residents. The role is to help our residents to welcome Shabbat on Friday afternoons by leading a kiddush for a small group of people. Kiddush at the home's start at around 4pm. You will be paired with an existing experienced volunteer to get a feel of the role. Go to your designated floor where all you need will be ready for you to do Kiddush. Lead Kiddush and enable the residents to join in. Once Kiddush has been done you can choose to talk a little bit about this week’s Parasha as well as just having a general conversation. We are a campus of 3 care homes and have choices of start times for kiddush depending on what floor you are available to cover. From 4pm - 5.30 starts.

Not sure which role suits you or need a little friendly help? Please contact Angie at angie@jvn.org.uk for London or Rebecca at manchester@jvn.org.uk for Manchester.
